Are you exploring our acrylic paint range and wondering which type is best for you? In this guide, we’ll talk you through the main differences between our acrylic paints, including thickness, pigment load and finish. We’ve also included a couple of demos so that you can see them in action!
Dimension Acrylic Premium
This heavy-bodied paint is the thickest acrylic in our range. With a buttery texture, our Dimension Acrylics are perfect for retaining brush strokes in your work and creating impasto techniques with a palette knife. We’ve also developed this range with a high pigment load, meaning they provide clean colour mixing and give your artwork strong colour intensity.
-
Consistency: Ultra-thick and creamy texture that holds its shape once dry.
-
Pigments: High pigment load for clean colour mixing and strong colour intensity.
-
Excellent Lightfastness: Dimension Acrylics have a lightfast rating of Blue Wool Level 7 or above (equivalent to ASTM 1). This means that under museum lighting conditions, the pigment will remain unchanged for more than 100 years.
-
Coverage: Great coverage

Finish: Gloss finish
-
Surfaces: Suitable for most surfaces including canvas, wood, air dry clay, plaster, cardboard, paper, leather and some plastics.

Satin Acrylic Premium
Our Satin Acrylics pack the same high pigment load as our Dimension Acrylics but feature a silky-smooth consistency and medium thickness. This makes them perfect for regular painting, creating glazes and smooth blending. Thanks to the high pigment load, these paints also provide clean colour mixing and strong colour intensity.
-
Consistency: Smooth texture with medium thickness.
-
Pigments: High pigment load for clean colour mixing and solid colour intensity.
-
Very good lightfastness: Satin Acrylics have a lightfast rating of Blue Wool Level 6 or above (equivalent to ASTM 2). This means that under museum lighting conditions, the pigment will remain unchanged for 50-100 years.

This makes them ideal for adding a pop of metallic detail to artworks, creating shimmering backgrounds and bringing stunning abstract paintings to life.

Fluoro Acrylic Premium
Our Fluoro Acrylic Premium paints are perfect for creating bright artworks that stand out in normal light and glow under black (UV) lights! They feature a smooth texture and translucent finish, but can be layered to create an opaque result. These paints are great for craft projects and creating posters for events (especially when you know there’ll be UV lights around).
-
Consistency: Smooth texture and medium thickness.

Finish: Translucent finish captures and reflects light which means these paints glow under ultraviolet lights. To build opacity, use several layers of paint and allow each layer to dry before painting the next.
-
Surfaces: Suitable for most surfaces including canvas, wood, air dry clay, plaster, cardboard, paper, leather and some plastics.
-
Drying time: 20-30 minutes (1-2 hours for thick areas). If layering, you can speed up drying time with a hair dryer or fan.

-
Techniques:
- Regular acrylic painting.
- Can be diluted with water or acrylic mediums to create a wonderful glazing technique.
