How to paint Halloween window clings
Step 1: Paint and glue mix
- Open a tear-off paper palette
- Squeeze out an equal amount of Deco Pudge and acrylic paint (Titanium White for the ghost, Lamp Black for the bat and witch)
- Mix thoroughly with a palette knife until the two products are completely combined
- Scoop the mixture onto a fresh tear-off paper palette sheet
- Spread it as evenly and smoothly as possible for easy removal later
- Let the cling coat dry naturally overnight – avoid using a hair dryer as it may make the paint bond too tightly to the paper
Step 2: Ghost window cling
- Carefully peel the dried white paint coat off the paper
- Apply it to a flat, non-stick surface such as an easy clean palette and smooth it out
- Cut out the ghost by using the provided printout to use as a template
- Place the template on the paint, using the hobby knife to cut around the shape
- Remove the excess cling coat and apply the ghost cling to any non-porous shiny surface like a window or tea light holder
Step 4: Create the bat cling
- Repeat the process with the black paint coat for the bat template
- Cut out the bat shape and remove the excess cling coat
- Apply the bat cling to a non-porous shiny surface
Step 5: Create the witch cling
- The witch is the most challenging cling to make
- Use the black paint coat and the witch template
- Take your time to slowly cut around the details
- Remove any excess cling coat and apply the witch cling to your chosen shiny surface
Now you can decorate your windows, vases, glass frames, and other non porous surfaces around the house to celebrate the spooky season! Customise your designs with different paint colours and shapes.
